A Moped That Runs On Thin Air
This bike runs on nothing but thin air, designed by University of Bristol aeronautics graduate Jim Stansfield, former sheepherder, turned inventor and rocket scientist. He simply used a couple of air canisters normally used by firefighters as breathing apparatus and married them onto a moped. Giving the world an air-powered moped that actually puts out cleaner air than found in many town and city center.
There are 2 cylinders of compressed air that drive twin rotary air engines that then propel the moped up to its shattering top speed of over 18mph. Unfortunately, its maximum range is just 10 km, and then you need to rush to the local dive shop for a refill. Of course, this may not prove too practical if you live 800kms from the coast.
