Apollo software will further improve navigation technology
The new software called Apollo is the latest GPS development that could further improve navigation technology.
The artificial intelligent software is being developed to support eye-Phone. The researcher is expecting to create a device that features Object Recognition Viewfinder, Search Engine Technology, and GPS Navigation system.
This is how the software works: users can take photo of a certain landmark, after this, they can transmit the image to the web via satellite navigation localization and the information will be sent to the users’ mobile devices in text-form. This technology can identify various objects from any angle and lighting condition.
This technology is without any hitch, the developer has yet to decide which entity (e.g. Microsoft, Google, local government, travel book publisher, ect.) will provide the “answer” to the request.
A prototype is expected to be completed before the year ends and may be officially introduced to the market two years from now.
