Melodyne - Direct Note Access

Direct Note Access may be the next big step in recording software. This new system may be able to perform what was believed to be impossible. Direct Note Access can individually manipulate a group of chords (musical notes).

Direct Note Access

With Direct Note Access recording engineers will have the opportunity to create absolutely pitch-perfect recordings, even if the musicians happen to be completely tone deaf. German programmer Peter Neubäcker created the software as a plug in for Melodyne tuning software.

Until the advent of this new software, it was only possible to manipulate individual notes. Melodyne plug-in 2 users will be able to manipulate a far more complex set of notes; this allows recording engineers to create completely new songs and music from existing recordings, of perhaps deceased recording artists.

Unfortunately, it is believed that even this software is not powerful enough to correct all the problems with American Idol hopefuls.
