Skyfire now supports Silverlight
This might not mean much to you if you don’t use mobile web or not interested in following live stats of the Beijing Olympics form your Symbian or WinMo phone. But if you don’t fall in those two categories listen up. Skyfire (the most advanced mobile browser to date…yes even better than Safari Mobile) now offers support for SIlverlight.
If you’ve been keeping up with tech news you might remember that Microsoft snagged the deal with NBC to run its online edition on Silverlight instead of Adobe Flash. Well with the latest private beta of Skyfire you will be able to view the full desktop version of the website on your phone and get live updates (along with videos) etc. of the events. And if that isn’t enough Skyfire also offers full support for Flash.
If you’re in the private beta we envy you, if not go sit down in the corner and hope this is released before the Olympics is over.
