In 2005, Sony Ericsson introduced the first Walkman trademark mobile phone. The W800 has combined features of music player, phone and camera. The convergence of these technologies has amazed many tech experts who say that this is one of the best Walkman phones in the market.

Just after three years of introducing W800, Sony Ericsson has released early this year its new product W890i. This Walkman phone is super slim (only 10mm thick and 78 grams), it also possessed key features such as 2GB internal memory which included 2GB Memory stick that has the capacity to store up to 500 songs. The W890i has a 3.2MP camera, a built-in FM radio, a Bluetooth, a USB connection, and a 3G video calling.

The W890i has three available colors, espresso black, mocha brown and sparkling silver. It has a button that automatically activates the Walkman player. It also has feature called TrackID which allows listeners to identify an unknown song. It works like this: the listener can record a brief sample of the song that he wanted to identify, then he will use the TrackID to send it to Gracenote Mobile MusicID database for identification. He will immediately received a message that tells who is the artist and the title of the album.

The W890i’s radio automatically turns off when in flight mode, so the phone would not disturb sensitive equipment that can be found in planes and hospitals. The users can’t make a call, but other functions are still available to use.

Another remarkable feature of W890i is SensMe. This can locate and play tracks according to the user’s mood.

Other noteworthy elements of W890i are the 3D Java games, web browser, PhotoDJ and VideoDJ which allows users to edit video clips and images, and the PlayNow service which lets the users buy and download MP3 ringtones.

And finally, the phone’s iconography and its graphics are outstanding as noticeable in its selection of themes and screen savers.
